The mail just came and I now have a copy of Stephen Thorne's probate record from the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick. It reads in part:
"I give and bequeath to my loving wife Catherine a certain tract or parcel of land being situated in the Parish & County aforesaid on the ------ side of The Grand Lake northerly from the upper key hole /so called/ being lot No. 4 and 1/2 of --- ----- part of lot N. 3 bounded on the south by lands owned by Joshua Caulkin"
So, Joshua was a neighbor of Catherine's and that's probably why he testified that she lived in Gagetown.
