Hi Ron
I posted along time ago of the 1750 Charles CAVILEER lineal. Since, I found more and I am really in question as to a possible connection with your DOUGHTY (NEAL) CAVILEER surnames. From a rare book from in which at one time I was a subscriber, I was reluctant to find the following:

HINDE, THOMAS, b. 16 July 1734, Oxfordshire, England, d 28 Sept 1828, Newport KY., m. 24 Sept, 1767, King or Queen Co., VA Mary Todd HUBBARD b. 1747, d. 1830.
He served with Wolfe on the Plains of Abraham and was a Minute Man under Colonel Patrick Henry at Long Bridge in 1775 when he marched against Lord Dunmore. "First Surgeon on the regiment of Colonel Patrick Henry, afterwards, appointed by Gov. Henry to inoculate the troops designed to enter the Continental Service, to which he gave his full time, and largely of his private fortune."
1) Elizabeth CLIFFORD, b. 11 June 1768, m. Robert RICHARDSON
2) Susanna BROOKS, b. 15 Dec. 1770, m Rev. L. Roy COLE
3) John WOOD, b. 30 Mar. 1774, m. Elizabeth MARKS
4) Hanna HUBBARD, b. 6 Mar. 1777. m1) Rev. William KAVANAUGH, m2) William TAYLOR, m3) V. MARTIN
5) Mary TODD, b. 27 Jan. 1780, m1) Ed TAYLOR, m2) Colonel John MCKENNEY
6) Ann WINSTON, b. 12 Dec. 1783, m. Richard SOUTHGATE

7) Thomas Spottswood HINDE b. 19 Apr. 1785, m1) Belinda BRADFORD, m2) MRS. SARAH DOUGHTY NEAL CAVILEER

8) Martha HARRISON, b. May 1787, d. 2 Apr 1810.

DESCENDANT: KECK, Sara Robyle Powell (Mrs. Louis Douglas No. 256310)

I am curious first off...why do the children have different last names then their father???

Secondly: In the will of my Charles CAVILEER of Chestertown, Kent County, MD states one of his daughters name as "SARAH D'NEAL CAVILEER" I am assuming she is one of the younger of the daughters. I have info on HINDE CAVILEER and I am still in question especially looking at your Sarah DOUGHTY file and discovering the name "NEAL" on your website if there could be a possible link with my CAVILEER roots.
I am most certainly in question with this Peter CAVILEER.
I found in my records a "P" Charles CAVILEER, something I had just recently caught, The Charles CAVILEER in my lineal was b. 1749, d. 1815 and was buried in Chester Cemetery in Kent Co., MD. No mention of a wife.
I was recently in contact with an elderly woman in the state of Illinois. She has been researching for approx. 30 years, and stated she has been trying to find answers to this same Sarah CAVILEER. We both have much of the same info on the HINDE/CAVILEER line with DOUGHTY but are having a difficult time trying to pull together a connection. We are finding next to no info on Sarah DOUGHTY NEAL CAVILEER. The Main Thomas S.HINDE file is located in Illnois, and copies of that same file are archived in Wisconsin and Minesota. Thomas S. HINDE speaks much about his first wife, Belinda BRADFORD, and next to nothing about his second marriage with Sarah, which makes this search difficult. Is it possible she (Sarah) may have been a slave and may have been adopted by Chas, CAVILEER? Thats our only other thought. Sarah and Thomas S. HINDE were buried in the same Cemetery in Sandhill #2 Cemetery, Mt. Carmel, Wabash Co., Illinois. Is it at all possible this info could tie in with yours?
