Tom; I didn't see anything familiar in your
Cave info that I could relate to except for
the James Cave in Christian Co MO...I am not
sure if James is related to my grandmother or
not, whose mother was Eliza Cave. Eliza had a
sister named Elizabeth. My grandmother was
Adda Emaline Wood.
There are several Caves listed in Christian,
Greene, and Webster Co MO..Adda's parents
were from northern Greene Co. St Clair isn't
much farther north..a couple counties. The
Cave line I have is William, Orange Co VA...
b 1738..died in Greene Co KY. His son, John
Sr b abt 1764 in VA died after 1840 in Surry Co NC; His son John b 1797 in VA died after
1860 in Christian Co MO. He is the father of
my gr grandmother Eliza Cave. They were in
Roane Co TN abt 1846 where Eliza was born.
I do have names of some siblings in my pile
of research papers. I do not have a computer
and all my work is done the hard way (and I
hate filing!)I do know that there was a
Willard Cave in Springfield, Greene Co, MO
in 1940's? He started a carburetor shop..
which is interesting as Eliza's father, John
Jr was also a mechanic. He (John) died after
1860 in Christian Co MO. The James E Cave
might be a brother to this John or Eliza? I
forgot the date you had on him. It seems my
cave family went from VA to TN and thru KY
and on to MO.If they came thru St Louis,
then one or more of them could of stayed in
Illinois somewhere although your places in
Ill are north of the St Louis area.In
checking the distances on the map, that was a
lot of traveling in a 2 yr span!!
I might add that there was a Lucinda Rogers
that married a William Cave in Boone Co KY in
Dec 23, 1814.Don't know if she is related
to my Rogers family or not. There was also
another Rogers/Cave marriage...Mahala ? same
line.If you see a connection here, let me
[email protected]
