Lonnie "L.J." Reed Jr., 69, died Feb. 27, 2009, at Helen Keller Hospital. He was born Dec. 1, 1939, in Detroit, Ala., to Zack and Gladys Terry Reed. He was a mechanic. There were no services. Survivors included three sons, Ryan Reed of Waterford, Wis., Don Reed (Carol) of Burlington, Wis., and Patrick Reed of Alabama; four sisters, Ruth Swindle and Belvie Ferdon, both of Golden, Lee Reed of Knoxville, Tenn., and Tina Darracott of Red Bay; special friend, Venda Roberson; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathleen Morris and Wyvonnia Long.
