There are extreamy few Arnet's spelled with one t. When I started my research about ten years ago I could only find about 135 families.

My branch of the family started out in France in Alsace Lorraine. Our family crest says that we were ferry boat captains on traded in new and used ferry boats. Some of our family lived in Colmer. One of our kin was superintendant of all of the coal mines in the area. Another kin was the pastry chef for a king of France. This is information passed down thru our family.

My kin are Stone Cutters, furriers and tailors, and a few bakers. We still are very partial to water and boats. My own family has lived by the water for at least 100 years. We have had cabin cruisers and smaller boats for years. Two generations have helm Marine franchises and I own and operate the oldest retail business in Ann Arbor, Mi. We fabricate and sell Memorials.

I would be interested in corresponding with other Arnet's about family info!
