RE: Job ATTERBURY who co-owned property with Peter Banner ca. 1800 in New Haven, CT. Job Atterbury had a woman named Sarah Thomas living next door to him in the 1800 census. This may or may not be a coincidence, but an older man also named Peter Banner,b.ca. 1731, (also originally from England)who had lived previously in MD & VA, was living in Barnwell SC after 1784 (he d. there ca.1799/1800)-may have had a daugther named Sarah Banner who married a man named James Thomas, thus also making her a "Sarah Thomas." This other older Peter Banner was in a land deal with a man named William Thomas as early as 1784 and when he d. ca. 1799/1800 in Barnwell, there are men named James Thomas and William Thomas in his estate packet. A man named Job Atterbury died in Wilmington, NC 16 Aug 1819. Why Wilmington, NC? Was he the same Job Atterbury who had been in New Haven? (who married Sarah Bakewell)--or a different Job Atterbury? Does anyone have information on the Job Atterbury who co-owned property in New Haven, CT around 1800 or so with the famous architect from London named Peter Banner? B. Treon cooltreons@hotmail.com |
