http://vitals.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ca/death/search.cgi - shows Anna Maude Sinnott died 1944, maiden name Thorpe, mother's maiden name O'Connor. Nicholas' mother's maiden name is given as White. There is also a Gertrude Mathews, b. 1885 California, mother's maiden name White, died in San Francisco in 1966. There are some early Matthews/Sinnott births on the CA birth index - a Gladys E. in 1908 and a unnamed girl in 1914, both in Alameda co.
