Sylvester CABLE and Rachel WILSON had at least 8 children. Their daughter, Nellie CABLE born abt 1891 <of Lower Tyrone, Fayette co>, PA who married James A JONES and they had at least 2 daughters: Doris (JONES) WILEY died 1992; and Laura Mae JONES. Laura Mae JONES married Adam MIEDEL and they lived in Scottdale, Westmoreland co, PA. They owned Hilltop Labs in Scottdale, an animal research business. Their daughter, Barbara Ann MIEDEL born 10 May 1936 of Scottdale, Westmoreland, PA died of cancer 26 Mar 1998 in Camarillo, Ventura, CA married my cousin Richard Everett COLE. Obit: Valley News Dispatch, Tarentum, PA 30 Nov 2004: "Laura Mae Jones Miedel, 92, of Scottdale, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 28, 2004, in Wood Crest Senior Living Community, Scottdale. She was born in Scottdale, Oct. 28, 1912, a daughter of the late James A. and Nellie Cable Jones. Laura was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Lambing #314. She was a graduate of St. Lukes' Hospital School of Nursing, Cleveland, where she was employed for a number of years. Laura leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted children, James F. Miedel, of Scottdale, Thomas R. Miedel and his wife, Margaret, of Scottdale, Jean Kammer and her husband, Charles, of Baltimore, Md., and William P. Miedel and his wife, Nancy, of Alverton; her 16 grandchildren, James Miedel, Wendy Sowinski, Ed Miedel, Danielle White, Andrew Miedel, Lisa Maxwell, Cindy Farmer, Anson Miedel, Ryan Rene Miedel, Vicki Watson, Kristi Watson, Michael Kammer, David Kammer, Brian Kammer, Gregory Oard and Chad Miedel; and her 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Adam M. Miedel, who died Oct. 21, 2000; her daughter, Barbara Miedel Cole, who died March 26, 1998, her three grandsons, Kevin S., Patrick B. and Richard K. Miedel; and her sister, Doris Jones Wiley, who died in 1992. Family will greet friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by her funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, with the Rev. Leonard W. Stoviak as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in St. John Parish Cemetery, Scottdale. A parish wake service will be held Monday in the funeral home.
