From the "First Book of Records of the Town of Pepperellborough, Now Saco" 1896, I have the following "The following are the names of the Children of John Cleaves and Eunice Cleaves born in Pepperborough viz. Sarah Cleaves born Sept. 24, 1781. Anna Cleaves Feb. 26, 1784. Polly Cleaves July 14, 1787. John Cleaves Oct. 25, 1789. John Thorndike Cleaves and Nov. 28 1793. William Walkinshaw Cleaves Eunice Cleaves Oct. 24, 1798." It seems that we descend from the same couple, John and Eunice Libby Cleaves. I am not sure if your ancestor is the first John on the list or the John who is twin to William. Anyway, Hope that this is helpful to you or someone else. |
