OBITUARY - BROOKLYN DAILY STANDARD UNION - NOVEMBER 1, 1918
John ERNST, husband of the late Fanny DOERFFLER ERNST, died on Wednesday at his home, 336 Knickerbocker avenue, aged 52 years, of pneumonia. He was born in Germany on March 31, 1866, and was for many years the proprietor of a cafe. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and belonged to a large number of organizations. Among them were the Hessischer Saengerbund, the B.G.V. Germania, the M.V.G. Harmonia, the Independent Quartet Club, the John ERNST Benevolent Association, the Montauk Benevolent Society, the Schwabelscher Saengerbund, The Brooklyn Boss Bakers' Singing Society, Schwartzer Ritter Lodge F. and A.M., Schiller Lodge, No. 304, the J. J. Schulze Aid Society, the Nineteenth Assembly District, Plug Hat Association, the
Nineteen Assembly District Democratic Association and the Wine and Liquor Dealers Association of Kings County. He is survived by one daughter, Katherine WENDERBURG, and two sons, John and Andrew, the latter in France. Funeral services will be held at his late home on Sunday at 1:30 P.M. Interment at Lutheran Cemetery. I am not related & have no other info.
