? H. Ridings, 17, TN, male (probably Thomas H. Ridings)

The preceding family was that of H.W. and Savinia Gately with about nine children.

1850, 13th CD, Carroll Co., TN, 111, #1463: Mary Gateley, 60, NC; Elizabeth Scott, 37, TN; Mary E. Bridges?, 15, MS; Henry Scott, 14, TN; Nancy Scott, 11?, TN.

1840, Carroll Co., TN, 69: Mary Gatley.
1820, Stewart Co., TN, 29: William Gately 11001-22010.

Were Elizabeth Scott and Sarah Ridings daughters of Mary Gately? Was Mary related to the Wilson Chambers who m. Elizabeth (Betsy) Ridings, a sister of Absalom Ridings, and moved to Hancock Co., IL? Another sister, Louisa Ridings, who also moved to Hancock, m. a Bridges, Hicks and Smart.

Absalom Ridings, son of Joel Ridings and Penelope May,grew up in Humphreys Co., TN. He was on the 1840 census in Carroll Co., TN, and in 1850, Henderson Co., TN, he was listed with Sarah Ridings, 45, TN; Susan, 23?; William, 19, farmer; Mary E., 15; James, 12; Henry H., 10; Thomas H., 6, and Martha, 4, all b. TN. Henry was on the 1870 census in Sevier Co., AR.

Appreciate any clues to Sarah Ridings, her ancestors and descendants.
