Nancy Chesnutt: The data that I havealleges that John Gettys was married to a Miss Findley in Antrim County \. Ireland had a son named James Gettys. In 1789 on the way to charleston S.C. John's wife died on board ship and buried at sea.It was throught that cchild birth caused the dealth. She had adaughter name Mary . In the early 1800s John married a Miss Ann Thompson And in 1811 in Lancaster County, S,C,a son named Ralph Erskine Gettys was born. In1822another son named Ebenizer Gettys was born. John ettys Gettys, his wife Ann thompson Gettys and daughter by his first wife Mary Gettys is buried in The Waxsaw Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lancaster County, S,.C.
