Jones Glover and his wife Judith (Love) of Northampton Co NC had a daughter named Mary. She married William Gladdish, had 4 children, then died.
It is presumed that Judith's surname was Love based on the will of a woman named Mary Love in 1805. However at this point, I cannot tell for sure who Mary was the widow of or if she had previously been married to anyone else.

Mary Glover Gladdish had brothers named John Glover, Nathaniel Glover, Daniel Glover, Alexander Glover, William Glover.

Daniel Glover died during the War of 1812 time period and his father Jones Glover administered his estate.

Jones Glover died 1828 in Northampton Co NC, followed a few years later by his widow Judith.

Jones Glover of Northampton Co NC should not be confused with Jones Glover who died by 1804 in TN. The Jones Glover who died in TN also had a son named Jones Glover Jr who was his executor. Not to mention several other sons, among which was a John and William Glover, just like the Northampton Co NC family. However, Jones Glover Jr of TN married in 1816, then died before 1820. It appears that perhaps he left behind a son named Joseph Glover, later of Memphis TN area. The Jones Glover family of TN came out of Sussex Co VA....not Northampton Co NC.

My theory has been that Allen Glover (d 1789), Benjamin Glover(d 1798), Nathaniel Glover(d 1810), William Glover(d 1802), John Glover (d 1804) and Jones Glover (d 1828) of Northampton Co NC are all related, perhaps as brothers. I know for sure that John, William and Jones Glover were brothers because of the wills. Allen Glover died in 1789 and Benjamin Glover bought his saddle, Benjamin died 1798,leaving 2 sons and 2 daughters, and Nathaniel died about 1810 (after the census was taken) across the Roanoke River in Halifax Co NC next to the Spann family. I have no info on him or his children and have not looked at any microfilms from Halifax Co NC, but he (Nathaniel) owed Jones Glover some money. Penelope Glover, the orphan daughter of John Glover (d 1804) later married one of the Spann boys. The Spann family had first lived on the Northampton side of the Roanoke River.

Nathaniel Glover, the son of Jones Glover, married Rebecca Glover, the daughter of John Glover. (they were first cousins). They moved to Alabama.

Alexander Glover the son of Jones Glover also moved to Alabama.

The Gladdish boys also moved to Alabama. These people were first cousins to each other.

Just the oldest son John B Glover, son of Jones Glover remained in Northampton Co. After John died, his widow moved to Mississippi. Seth Peebles Glover, the son of John Glover also relocated to the same area. Seth P Glover may have had a different mother than the woman who was the widow of John Glover.

The above info is what I adsorbed from reading the microfilm of Northampton Co NC estates several years ago, and from comparing census figures. Comments/corrections welcomed.

I am one of the administrators at the Glover Surname DNA project, and I have a keen interest in trying to separate out some of the confusing issues related to Glover genealogy.

There were other Glover's in Northampton Co NC, but I have been unable to tell if they were related to the family of this discussion.
