I am looking for any information on a VANDIVER/VANDION family near Texas County, MO in the 1860-1870s. My family member James M. Gross married a 2nd wife named Mary E. VANDIVER (some say VANDION) in Texas Co., MO in 1872. His first wife was Pheba (Phoebie) Jane Younger who died about 1863 in Arkansas. Mary E. Vandiver may have been a Civil War widow. James M. Gross fought in the Civil War CSA, Company L, Freeman's Regiment, Missouri Calvary, Brigadier General Joseph Orville Shelby's Div. Price's Army. Confederate card #44181701. I also found an 1860 Shelby, MO census record for Mary E. Vandiver age 23 who might be the same Mary I am looking for. See below:
