I have ran across a census record from North Carolina for the above names and I feel that this might be a break through to my Gr. Gr. Grandfathers parents. If anyone is interested to help please contact me at: r.l.gumfory@worldnet.att.net The Gumphrey family is the one and same as Gumfory who changed the name spelling in 1800's, Gumphreys and Gumforys are one and only line of our family. This name is truly orriginal and no other duplicates and any time you see this name spellings it will be relatives to us. Robert Gumfory
