I was told by my late grandmother, who was born in Middletown, Butler County, OH, that her grandmother, Nancy Hinkley Leight, was descended from Samuel Hinckley, father of Gov. Thomas Hinckley, through one of Thomas' brothers. I am trying to fill in the missing pieces, but I can trace our line no further back then Ebenezer Hinkley, born c. 1812-1814 in NY, whose father, John H. Hinkley, died c. 1819. Ebenezer married Mary Frances Camren/Camron Aug. 10, 1834 in Warren County, OH and settled in Clermont County, OH. He was employed as an engineer (1850) and a paper maker (1860). Mary was born in either OH or NY and her parents were born in VA. There is a family story that she once owned property in Fountain Square in Cincinatti.

Does anyone know anything about Ebenezer, Mary or their parents, or how I might trace them?
