Another theory about the origins of the Huson name is, similar to your story, it was originally spelt as Husson and was a common name of French Huegenots who were persecuted in France so fled to Holland and Germany and eventually to England where the second 's' has been dropped. There are a lot of Huson's in Holland and we believe that it's possible that the Huegenots, who were mainly artisans, may have worked in the potteries at Delft and then moved to Stoke on Trent (UK) where there were a concentration of Huson's about twenty years ago (now not so many).
As we live in France we recently visited the Chateau Usson which is close to the Spanish border. Unfortunately it is in a bit of a poor state now. I'll mail you a photo if you'd like to see it.
