Thank you so much! How interesting! Where did you find this information? I have a newspaper article being sent to me from 1898 referring to Hiram's murder in Jan 1880. The excerpt I read said it was a robbery. Did he and Alice have any other children? Their daughter, Viola May Imes is my grgrgrandmother. My grandmother who is living and knew her told me she claimed to have a younger sister. There is much more to this story that she told. Is there a way through this site to send direct e-mail to you? It seems that I saw that somewhere. Viola also claimed to have been raised by one of the men who killed her father. This definitely seems to fit with your information. She also claimed that he was killed for money or property as they were very wealthy? Her story was always questioned. It's neat to see that there was at least some validity to it. By the way, Viola married Ishmel Wills (at least this is the given name my grandmother and the rest of the family knew him by, we've also seen it written Israel). He later changed his surname to Fisk/Fiske after learning that the man he was raised by was his step-father, and his biological father was Martin Fisk (who by coincidence was also killed in his early 20's). All of his children were given the name Fisk. Do you happen to know the names of Alice Bowyer's parents or her birthdate? I'm at a dead end on her side.
