My last name is spelled "Aissa" by I think it's the same than "Issa" because in Arabic it is written as Jesus the prophet (in arabic language).
The only thing I'm sure of is that my ancestors came from Andalousia (South of Spain) to settle in Tunisia (North Africa). And if we see the history of south of Spain we can notice that the Arabic civilization spent quite a while there. Therefore the name "Issa" or "Aissa" might be generated in the middle east region.
And as you say this name would most probably came from Syria, Lebanon, Palestine or Israel.
