My grandfather had cousins, Celia and Ethel Gordon, who were sisters. They were from Lithuania. Both immigrated to London in the 1890's, and later came to the U.S. Ethel's husband was Solomon Hiblonsky (the name was originally Jablonski). I don't know whether Ethel and Celia were married to their husbands before they went to London. Ethel and Solomon remained in London long enough to have 3 daughters, one of whom died in childhood. They later had 3 sons after coming to the the U.S. Solomon's father is beleived to have been Isaac. Ethel and Solomon lived on Mile End Road. There were relatives who remained in London. However, we do't know their names. There is a photograph of a n English cousin, taken in the 1920's or 1930's. On the back is written "Best Love, Ethel". She could well have been named for Ethel Gordon Hiblonsky. Do you still live in London? What other names are in your family tree? I would very much like to hear from you. My name is Linda Gordon Higgins. My address is email@example.com. Hoping to hear from you soon.
