John T. Lamb Was listed in the houshold of Joseph lamb in lumpkin co Georgia 1840 a revol War vet were listed on that census. Havn't found him anywhere else. This Joseph Lamb and family appears in Foryst Co Georgia in 1850. It appears this is the joseph that dissapears from Union co. South Carolina who was, I Think on the 1830 census Union co. SC. It was so long so I don't remember how I came up with that fact. On Tax record of Forsyth co in the 1840's was a Dorcus lamb. An Asa Lamb also of South Carolina mustered out of the Halls Co. Malitia in 1837 from the indian war in Forysth co. A Benjamin Lamb and a Matthew lamb were also in the Halls malitia at the same time. DNA shows that this group of Lambs are related to the Lambs in Virginia. They appear to be related to Henry lamb
in the Permiquen sp co. in North Carolina. A restore was in Albemarle co Virginia and later in the Permiquem co NC.
This same DNA is also found in Lambs in Ohio and Indiana.
I am thinking that this Georgia group lineage maybe something like this Henry lamb of Vig and North Carolina, John Thomas born 1746 dies probably in Georgia, son Robert Lamb bornin north Caolina, Robert Lamb, dies in South, son Robert lamb dies in South Carolina. Joseph dies in Georgia. my Asa lamb born in south Carolina about 1810 lives in Georgia from 1837 to about 1850 leaves Murry Co Georgia about 1860 goes to Poinsett co Arkansas, dies in civil war conflict near Memphis, Tenn in 1862. There is some speculation here. But a lot more facts than I can list and 30 years of research. Sadly too many records have been distroyed so I can not fill in the gaps. Hopefully some of you have personal family records that can shed some light on this group of Lambs. It looks o me like a lot o people have jumped on the Thomas lamb group from Buck Co Penn. and have lost heir way and their Lambs have been taged with the wrong grouping. If you have any information please share.
