I obtained land records from US Natl Archives & Records under Mary E LeBrun,widow of Louis LeBrun.She testified that her husband,Louis died Jan 27, 1886 on their homestead. She swore her maiden name was Mary Evelin Myers. Her marriage was March 18, 1870. The homestead consisted of 81 & 49/100.She testified that they resided on the homestead since the fall of 1880. It consisted of dwelling,tannery,well & about 5 acres of fence. Final Homestead dated June 13, 1890 in Mary E LeBrun's name. She states that her family consists of self & 9 children. She did not list the children. She also states that she carried on the tannery. Before settling upon the land,she states that they lived on Sabine River "My husband was a tanner".
