According to Jordan and Kaups, the Likens/ Lykins family descended from a finnish immigrant who probably arrived on the Delaware river after Swedish rule (of Finland) ended. They have a figure showing the spread of the Lykins surname and variants between 1725 and 1825. Discussion on p. 242, Figure 9.5--cites sources for the information .
