I've been informed that James P. Lovvorn's full and correct name was "James Pleasant Lovvorn" and that he was born Aug. 2, 1824 in Newton County, Georgia.
I'm further informed that his parents were Richard Lovvorn and wife Sally Kinney.
Richard Lovvorn is said to have been born 1790 in North Carolina,; married Feb. 28, 1811 in Clark County, Georgia; and died 1868 in Newton County, Georgia.
No mention of Cordelia. Do you think she may connect to this line?
I'm also informed that James Pleasant Lovvorn was married three times prior to Martha Causey. His first wife is said to have been a lady with the surname of "Price"
By her two children were born:
(1) Sanford Lovvorn b. Dec. 8, 1851 Newton Co.,GA
(2) Amanda F. Lovvorn b. Apr. 27, 1853 Newton County, GA. d. Nov. 17, 1931 Cullman County, AL.
She married George W. Sims on Oct. 28, 1878 in Clay County, AL.
George W. Sims was born Aug. 4, 1855 in Talladega County, AL. and was a son of Clayborn Sims and wife Susannah Waldrop.
Clayborn Sims and wife Susannah Waldrop are my gg Grandparents. They were married July 2, 1835 in Henry County, GA. They are buried in the old Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery located near Delta, Clay County, AL.
It is now my understanding that James Pleasant Lovvorn and his third wife Jane Underwood are also buried in that old Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery that is located near Delta, Clay County, AL.
By the way I do have land records that prove the old cemetery is located on the land owned and farmed by my gg grandfather, Clayborn Sims.
Your mention of Mary Elizabeth Sims and husband Jesse Parker Harris is of interest to me. You may already know, but just in case, I'll say that my records do include information of both his and her ancestors.
Mary Elizabeth Sims was a daughter of Kellet Sims and wife Sarah Ann Crane.
Kellet Sims was a son of Lewis Saxon Sims and wife Amanda/Arinda Babb.
I would very much appreciate knowing your line of descent from Jesse Parker Harris and wife Mary Elizabeth Sims.
Please forgive my long delay in responding. Thanks for the help.
