Homer 'H. B.' Malone Sr., 83, of Afton, Greene Co TN, died
Friday, January 27, 2012, at Takoma Regional Hospital.
He was a retired employee of Universal Furniture of
Mr. Malone was a tobacco farmer and loved his chickens. He
loved to raise a garden with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Suzie
Malone; one grandson, Marion Harold Doolittle Jr.;
brothers, Shobert Malone, Robert Malone, Cecil Malone, and
Doug Malone; and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Ruth Reynolds
Malone; four children, Janice and Marion Doolittle, Homer
and Fredia Malone, Richard Allen Malone, and Shobert and
Joyce Malone, all of Greene Co TN; eight grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Malone; two
sisters, Jane and Billy McAmis and Betty Malone Britton;
three brothers-in-law, Raymond and Helen Reynolds, Hobert
Reynolds, and a special brother-in-law, John Reynolds;
three sisters-in-law, Clara Malone, Clyde Hensley, and Ann
Crittenden; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends a special thanks to the fourth floor
senior-care nurses and staff at Takoma Hospital, Dr.
Charles Montgomery and nurses of the Doctors Office, Dr.
Lawrence Reid, Dr. William Diebold, and Dr. Gregory Uhl.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., and
5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2012, at Jeffers
Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday,
January 31, 2012, in the downtown chapel with interment in
Cross Anchor Cemetery. The Rev. David Duggar, the Rev.
Eddie Malone, and the Rev Nathan Reynolds will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hughes, Frank Broyles, Gabe
Shelton, Timmy Babb, Jason Babb, Scott McAmis, Nick
McAmis, Jared McAmis, Davie Swatzell, Harold Doolittle,
Wayne Hensley, Frankey Britton, Steve Britton, and Lee
Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, downtown, is serving
the Malone family.
