Hello Melonie, Thank you so much for your reply. I have only received the 'Family of Edge (del Egge) Notes from the William Salt Library where they have been kept the past 100 years. Through a long chain of events I was able to find and secure copies. I have not yet begun to research the Mayot family and all I have is that Adam del Egge married an Alice Mayot and it would have been about 1330-40. No marriage settlement was included by John Edge who researched and compiled the material, however, there are some 45 sheets of microfiche with 60 pages on each sheet and I have not 'plowed' through more than perhaps 10%. The material is quite faded and the handwriting difficult to read. Horton Hall, which the Egge's built is still standing and occupied which to me is amazing.
Thank you so much for the information on the various types of spelling. I had not gotten that far as to research the different spellings. Thanks again for your reply. Ruth in Oregon
