My wife's family came from Strazky which was part of Hungary and now is situated in the Slovak Republic. They arrived in Pennsylvania about 1881. The name has been seen spelled a variety of ways including Mazenyko, Mazenco, Mezinko, Macenko and Misenko. Their family was of a Michael and Mary (Suchila) Mazenko. Sons were George born 1874 and Michael born 1872 and a daughter Mary born 1886 who married George Ambro. Michael and wife Annie Mazenko and George and Mary (Mazenko) Ambro moved to the Guernsey County, Ohio area. George married Amelia 'Henrietta' Delozier and remained in Cambria and Clearfield County, PA. The original family was found in early tax records of Logan Twp, Blair County from 1891 -1897. In addition to this older Michael Mazenko we have seen a John Mazenko and John Mazenko No. 2. In 1900 there are a George Jr. and a George Sr. I believe the George Jr. to be Michael's son but have no record of who the George Sr. is. It appears that Michael senior may have had siblings (or close relatives) named John and George. Michael's wife died in 1897 and the family story says he returned to his homeland. Where did John Sr., John Jr. and George Sr. end up?
