I don't find any Renick names in KS in the 1870 or 1880 census so it got spelled a different way and to many ann/anna/annie/ Lizzy/Eliza/Elizabeth's to be sure which one is the right one. 1900 census says George J. was b. Feb. 1860 in OH. and Lizzy was b. Jan. 1859 in KS., Clara S. b. Dec. 1883 in MO., Joe A. b. Oct. 1885 in KS. and Eugene F. b. June 1894 in KS. Here is a couple of pieces to work with, George's bro. Joseph Bayless b. 1874 in MO. death record in MO. archives says father was Joseph Bayless mother unknown. Marriage Records Hamilton County Ohio Groom, Bride, source code, date range Boehles, Joseph Scherer, Clara 5-RCH (1850-59). 1860 census Vanderburgh Co. IN. name spelled Behles (Occ. cook), 1870 same place name spelled Boehles (Occ. steward), children names match the 1880 census I posted and ages are close enough to call them good. There is 3 people working the Scherer name in Hamilton Co. OH., you can find there e-mail addresses on this site.

Hope some of this will give you a boost to prove to you he is or isn't the correct one.
