I am an ancestor of Henry Moreau. He arrived aboard the Palmyra in Sydney on the 8th November 1854. Accompanying him were Catherine Hester Smith (his second wife who he married in Madras in 1852), together with the children of his first marriage to Mary Ann Townsend (m.1843) Margaret (b. 1844) and Emilia or Amelia (b.1846 or 1848 depending which source is right) and baby Nathaniel (b.1853 or 1854). Once in Australia the children recorded include Samuel (b.?*, Mathew (b.1858), Esther (b.1860), Stephen (b.1862), Susan (b.1867), Ada (b.1867), Ebenezer (b.1869), Evangeline (b. 1876), Grace (b.1880). We believe Samuel and Nathaniel may be one and the same person as there is no record of Samuel's birth in Australia and the name may have been confused or simply changed. He definitely existed as he is my great grandfather!
I see your query was made some years ago and may already have been answered form other sources as I have found nearly all of this on the Internet recently after following up some information given to me by my mother and another relative.
What is your connection? I would be interested in hearing from you.
Cheers, Bobbie Gibson
