In the 1820 and 1830 census there is a Jacob Musselman listed for Mount Pleasant Township, showing him to be born in the 1750's.
He does not appear to be there for the 1840 census.
In the 1830's he is listed as an adjoining occupying landholder neighbor on a survey record drawn up for my 2nd great grandfather, Joseph Hittle. Also listed on that survey as adjoining are one Joseph Lake. The 1830 census has him living next to John "Lack" who is then next door to Joseph "Lack."
The Lakes and the Hittles are known to be relatives. Does anyone recognize this Jacob Musselman? I suspect that he is likely the father of Abraham and Samuel Musselman of Bloom and Orange townships of Columbia County in the 1840 census.
I also suspect that he is somehow intermarried into the Hittle family, but would love a correction or any other further details in that regard.
