Davis, A.M., 1876 and 1905* editions.. excerpt: Marguerite, one of the daughters of Andre, born in Geneva, March 13, 1686, married Louis Jolly, and, from her, through the Becket family, are descended the families of Ross, Clark and Sims. The late John C. Sims, Philadelphia, was descended from this line. MARGUERITE DE NORMANDIE, born 13 March 1687, daughter of ANDREW 1 and LOUISE (CLERC) DE NORMANDIE of Geneva, Switzerland, came overseas to Bristol, Pennsylvania, with her widower father and two brothers in 1708. She married first, by 1709, LEWIS JOLLY, and second, after 1736, as his third wife, THOMAS BUDD. 56 The will of LEWIS JOLLY of Philadelphia, wheelwright, dated 17 February 1724 and probated 10 March 1724/5, named his wife MARGARET sole executrix. 57 She and her children joined her two brothers in Bristol. My note: ANNALS of DE NORMANDIE by ARTHUR SANDYS has wife of ANDRE as CHARLOTTE LE CLERC. THOMAS BUDD of Burlington, New Jersey, was born 27 April 1686, son of WILLIAM BUDD, 58 and died there testate in 1742. 59 His relict MARGARET petitioned 25 May 1742 for his second son, THOMAS BUDD, to be appointed administrator. 59 She died testate in 1762. The will of MARGARET BUDD of Northampton Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, widow, dated 25 May 1761 and probated 12 May 1762, bequeaths her clothing to "my only surviving daughter, MARY BUDD," but, if she die, then to my grand-daughter ELIZABETH ROSS, wife of ALEXANDER ROSS; to grandchildren REBECKAH JOLLY, MARY HOPEWELL, DEBORAH BUDD, MARGARET COWGILL, and MARGARET BUDD, L5 each; and appointed ALEXANDER ROSS executor. 60 CHILDREN OF LEWIS AND MARGARET (DE NORMANDIE) JOLLY: 61. i. Holly, Burlington Co., N.J. 10 May 1780, aged 67); 61 m. 2) AS HIS SECOND WIFE, ZACHARIAH ROSSELL of Mt. Holly (d. testate 21 Feb. 1815); 62 she d. 8 June 1807, aged 74 yrs. issue;: ii) MARY BECKET, m. by N.J. license dated 27 July 1754, DANIEL HOPEWELL, both of Burlington Co., N.J. (he d. testate, Ayers Town, Northampton Twp., Burlington Co., 1776, his widow MARY HOPEWELL administratrix). 63 64. iv. ANDREW JOLLY, bp. ST. MARY's Church, Burlington, N.J., 24 Aug. 1719. 65. v. JOHN JOLLY, born say 1721; of Bristol, bucks Co., Pa., cooper, m. by N.J., license dated 28 Aug. 1746, DINAH QUEST of Burlington, N.J. He d. intestate, Burlington 1752. 64 His relect m. 2) by N.J. license dated 5 Aug. 1761, JOHN BICKHAM of Burlikngton Co. (d. testate in 1769). Of City of Burlington, N.J., DINAH BICKHAM, widow , d. testate in 1799. 65 Daughter REBECCA JOLLY m. by N.J. license dated 25 Nov. 1777, ALLAN MCCOLLIN, both ot Burlinton, and had issue, named in will of their grandmother DINAH BICKHAM.
