I'm trying to find information about Ontario County New York McClintocks and Shorts in the early 1800s. I have the following McClintocks living in Ontario Co NY towards 1810-1840: Sarah McClintock (Short) born about 1812 in New Hampshire. Later lived in Ohio. Died after 1870. (My ancestor) Freeman McClintock Born: 28 Oct 1811 New Hampshire, USA Died: 17 Mar 1882 Sciota, Shiawassee, Michigan, USA Mahala McClintock (Short) James McClintock - deeds Ontario Co NY 1820 & 1830 William McClintock - deed Ontario Co NY 1817 The first three persons above all married Short brothers & sisters from the same family. I have descendent lines for Freeman Sarah. I have no additional information for the others. I do not know the relationship between these McClintocks. But it is quite possible they are all related and all moved from New Hampshire abt 1817. James and William seem to be the older members of the family.
