Sixteen men who trace their Allison roots back to Orange County, NY in the 1700s and 1800s are members of the Allison/Ellison DNA Project. Some trace their ancestry back to John Ellison/Allison, descendant of Laqwrence Ellison, who settled in Haverstraw about 1720 and others, including my brother, trace their ancestry back to Joseph Allison who settled in Goshen about 1725. DNA test results show that John and Joseph were related. We are seeking other male descendants of both John Allison and Joseph Allison who HAVE the ALLISON surname to join the Allison/Ellison DNA Project. All men with the Allison or Ellison surname who have Orange County roots are invited to join the DNA Project and this is an ideal time to do so.

The company that is co-ordinating the Allison/Ellison DNA Project is now offering a special end-of-the-year discount on DNA testing through December 31, 2008.The Y-Chromosome 37 marker DNA test price is REDUCED to $119 (normally $189. This discounted price is for NEW project members only, so if you are an Allison or Ellison male or if you know an Allison or Ellison male who has considered getting his Y-chromosome DNA tested, NOW is the time to do so and save some money. Please pass along the good news. With over 100 Allison and Ellison men in our Project, new members have a good chance of matching someone and finding one or more new cousins.

Please e-mail me privately at yonan at fgi.net for information about how you can join the Allison/Ellison DNA Project.

Best wishes,
