Looking for information on our ancestors. According to the Certifcate and Record of Marriage for George Lewis/Louis Lang and Effie May Lang (maiden name Sammis), Georges' parents were Peter Lang and what appears to be Mary Sevbeck, Sepveck, Sepvech, etc cannot pick out the last name very well. According to the 1910 Census for George, his parents were born in Germany. Chances are they may have been married in Germany as well and came to the US at the same time. George married Effie May Sammis. They had 2 children Reginald Townsend Lang and Ethel Lang. Effie died in Nassau County, Town Hempstead, Village Hewlett. The standard certificate of death says she died on May 18, 1915, at 12:15 a.m. At the time she was a widow. She was born June 16, 1879, Babylon, NY George was born in New York City, 1865. Looking to find an obituary for Effie and an obituary and date of death for George (died somewhere between 1908-1915). Reginald was born in 1908. Wondering where the children went right away, I know Ethel ended up with her great aunt Estelle Parker and Reginald was raised or adopted by the Owen family in Canada. To date not able to make the connect from the Lang Family to the Parker family. Estelle I don't think ever married. Effie's parents: Philip/Phillip Sammis born in Babylon, NY and Catharine I Hart born in Amityville NY. Looking for any information I can find on these family members. |
