I am looking for info about Lafayette Baird, born 16 August 1870 in Gallia County, Ohio. His parents were James Baird and Emma McDaniel. In the 1870 census, James and Emma have no children. In the 1880 census, Lafayette is living with his grandmother Sallie (Sarah) McDaniel widow of William. Emma is sister of John E (Edward?) McDaniel. I believe something happened to Emma and James Baird. Lafayette lived with his grandmother and took the name McDaniel. Lafayette is my husband's great grandfather. On his death certificate his parents are listed as Ed McDaniel and Mary E. Wooley. We would love any dates, and what may have happened to Emma and James. Thanks, Margaret Ervin
