In the 1930 census Erma states she is 30 years old and first married at 18. that is 12 years difference. George is 31 first married at 22, 9 years difference. So this would more then likely be her 2nd marriage. Merle is 8 years old, but depending on when he was born and when the census was taken he could have been closer to 9 years. The point of this message is I found a possible volunteer who does lookups in the California birth index. Go to; http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~genealogylookup/births/california.html I don't know if you have to have a membership to Ancestry to use this. If it doesn't work for you let me know and I will contact the volunteer.
