You're in luck. There are two known ancestors of the Franklin Co, IL REAs who have had Y-DNA testing. One is a descendant of Wilson Rea, through his son Abraham. The other is a descendant of Wilson's brother, Abner (Sr), through his son Abner Jr.
Their results can be found on the Rea Surname DNA Project web site:
Their kit #'s are 135256 and 13689, respectively. I cannot speak as to how these results may relate to a genetic signature of the Macrae clan. From the Rea DNA project data you will notice that there are 20+ genetically different families which use the surname Rea/Ray/Rhea/etc. [By "genetically different" I mean that it's extremely unlikely these various Ray/etc families shared a common male ancestor anytime since surnames came into use.]
The Rea's of Franklin Co, IL have been well-researched by a number of people. Wilson Rea, his brother Abner Rea and his sister Jane (Rea) Overturf were early settlers of Franklin Co, IL. Descendants still live in the area. I believe the lineage is well-documented back through William Collin(g)s Rea and his father James Rea, who died in Henry Co, VA ~1788/9.
