Well, I am not sure I can help you, but I am researching the Rex name in Ohio too. My grandmother was Hazel Oneida(sp?) Rex, and her married name was Sybert. Now, I have heard that her name was Rex Mahan, or Mahan Rex, as she must have been married before, or her father remarried. Do you have any information? I do have one photo of her. She died in South Houston, Texas.
