Kim My grandparents also both came from Scilily a small city outside of its capital Palermo. Paul Ricca and Mary Perpera). He had a brother Josephe, actually they had a arge family. I'll try to get more info. i have a family tree somewhere in my mothers attack...(HA HA) Here is a tid bit of history that links the "Piedmonte" Ricca's to the Sicilian group" region. Sicily was dominated by Piedmontese, however, the national government possessed little understanding of the south. Efforts to centralize power, accompanied by burdensome taxes and military conscription, intensified southern resentment and led to an abortive insurrection in Palermo in 1866. I have researched the name in many places and I see the name appear in both areas...curious where it started...Do you have any knowledge of its origin ? wonder if we are realted...I too live in Boston |
