Thomas Sanders was my ggg-grandfather, and was a watchmaker in Banbury, Oxfordshire County, England.
[In the book "Shoemaker's Window - recollections of George Herbert" says,
'Mr. Thomas Saunders (sic), a watchmaker and a very clever man (in Parsons Lane early in the 19th century) made a machine for tagging laces as a stay--and boot laces. He emigrated to America, his brother and nephew having preceeded him'
Thomas Sanders married 1st Ester Green 22 Jan 1795 in Banbury, Oxfordshire County, England, & 2nd Elizabeth Whild, 06 Aug 1808 in Banbury, Oxfordshire County, England.

Thomas % Ester Green had a daughter, Harriet Sanders who married Edward Mascord born about 1803 Banbury, Oxfordshire County, England. They had a son George born in Banbury about 1827. They all immagrated to New York, USA in Aug 1829, on the ship St John.

Is there anyone who might have information on the Sanders/Saunders families of Banbury. Also Mascord families of Banbury?
