Spartanburg Herald , June 26, 1905 {S.C.} DEATH OF J.H. BURGESS Visitor at Glenn Springs Striken While enjoying the pleasures of a hot bath in the bathhouse at Glenn Springs yesterday afternoon, J.H. BURGESS, aged 53 years of Wedgefield, S.C. was stricken with apoplexy resulting in his death a few seconds later. His death was most sudden and cast a gloom over the entire community. The remains were shipped today to Wedgefield for interment. MR. BURGESS went to Glenn Springs several days ago and was enjoying his visit to the resort to the fullest extent. He was not an ill man but went to the Springs for the purpose of enjoying a good rest and drinking the water, which has always benefited him. He was in good spirits all day yesterday and chatted pleasantly with his acquaintances at the resort. The death of MR. BURGESS is greatly deplored. He had made many friends for he was a most agreeable and pleasant guest. --- [ hope some family member may find this of interest.]
