Possibly connected a generation earlier: I have Hannah Shipton born 4th Feb 1841 Alrewas, Staffs. Father was John Shipton born 1811 Yoxall, Staffs and mother Mary Shipton nee Robinson. It seems there were a family of Shiptons around these small villages of Staffs just outside Lichfield. they appear on the 1881 census and the IGI. John shiptons mother was probably Margaret.
