I am just starting my research on the Slayden line. I have Leo Lavern Slayden, b: July 11, 1923 in Arkansas; d:Mar 5, 1974 in California. He married Helen Ruth Carson, who was born Feb. 19, 1924 in Missouri. Leo's father was Tillman Luther Slayden, born in 1897 in Arkansas and d: Sep.20, 1963 in Arkansas and married Stella Forrest, b: Aug 1900 in Ark. and d: May 1978. Tillman's father was James L. Slayden and mother: Mary Elizabeth Lentz b: 1868 in Tenn. I have found James & Mary in Arkansas in 1900 in census records and Tillman with Stella in 1920 Census for Arkansas. James' father ws Daniel Patrick Slayden, mother: Lucy Jones. Daniel's father: Patrick and mother: Margaret. I found Margaret with her family in the 1850 census in Kentucky, all her children still living together, Patrick, not present. Does anyone know if I am on the right tract? I can't seem to find them on any other census records...very difficult to find. Any help would be appreciate. Thank you, Elizabeth
