Looking for ancestors of Henry H. Tumy who was b. 8-10-1819 in Mercer County, Harrodsburg, Ky., and died 1-16-1902 in Rocheport, Mo. He married Georgia Ann Evans, 10-24-1844 in Rocheport, Mo.
When Henry Tumy was 3 years old his parents moved to Petersburg, Ky, and from there to Cincinnati, Ohio when he was 6 years old. A year later his father died of yellow fever at New Orleans, and Henry went with his mother to Dayton, Ohio, where she died, leaving him alone in the world at the early age of 8 years. He was bound to a tanner named John Kuntz, with whom he lived 6 years, learning something of the tanning business. At 14 years of age he set in to learn the saddle and harness maker's trades. In September 1842, Mr. Tumy came to Rocheport, Mo.
