Brazos County Death Certificate for: McCalem, Matilda resident of College Station; occupation farmer; widow; 58 years old; died 16 October 1918; buried Washington Chapel [Washington Chapel Cemetery, also known as Salem Cemetery, is now part of the College Station city cemetery] The 1900 Brazos County census lists her as the wife of Alex McKellam. "Lincoln High 4-H'ers Elect New Officers," Bryan Daily Eagle, 18 September 1958, p.11, col.3. Clinton Robinson was elected president of the Lincoln High School 4-H club at a meeting Wednesday. Other officers elected during the meeting were Jimmy Banks, vice president, Dorothy M. Rooks, secretary, Imogene McKellom, reporter and Betty Jo Wilborn, song leader (article continues) . Bryan Briefs, Houston Informer, 28 May 1932, p.5, col.1. Mrs. Roberta Reddan of College Station died Wednesday, May 12. The funeral was conducted from Roan Chapel and remains deposited in the above cemetery, Rev. Jackson officiating. She leaves a mother, several sisters and brothers to mourn her death. Conlee arrived this morning from Denison, bringing with him A.B. Holmes, a Negro, wanted in Brazos County on a charge of assault with attempt to murder, alleged to have been committed on another Negro, Lige Redding, near Harvey some time ago.
