By now you may have found what you needed, but in "Republic of Texas: Poll Lists for 1846" compiled by Marion Day Mullins: Coffman, James -- Red River Also: Coffman, Lovell -- Red River Red River, a parent county to several other Texas counties, is in the NE corner of Texas, as is Camp. You might check land records in Red River for earliest land records. Go to Rootsweb's WorldConnect -- http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi -- I used less common name of Lovell. I typed in Coffman, Lovell, died Texas. Several people are working on this line. I clicked on his father and sure enough the above James and Lovell are brothers. Happy Hunting (^_^) |
