I'm looking for information as to why Capt. Calvin Boales was in Austin around 1853. He came to Texas and served in Sterling Robertson's regiment as a Captain. I'm not sure if Calvin Boales participated in any battles during the Texas Revolution. From what I've researched thus far, he died in 1853 around Austin,TX in Travis County. My family has failed in finding his grave as it was common back then for burial that consisted of unmarked graves. I'm trying to piece together what Calvin was doing around Austin during 1853, and what could have led to his death. Any information is appreciated!!
