Hi Bronwyn,
I found an Elizabeth Sullivan living in WA in 1880 at St. Joseph's HospitalVancouver, Clark Co.
Elizabeth Sullivan, b. Ireland, 70, boarder.
I don't know if this is your Elizabeth or not.

If she died in Clark County there was no requirement by the State to file a death record. However early deaths may be filed at the Court House. But first you need to know when she died. I'd contact a volunteer at Random Acts Genealogical Kindness. Go to www.raogk.org, read instructions, choose Washington, choose Clark Co. There are a couple to choose from.

If that doesn't work out, contact the Clark County Genealogical Society, http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~waccgs/p1570.htm . They do research for a reasonable fee. They should also know if you have to know the death date before you contact the Court House.

What was Mary and Thomas's surname? Can't do any research without that. Successful Searching!
