Picking this post up kinda late but Solomons Chalfant is
my Revolutionary Ancestor. He married Jimina Eaton first
in Berkley County Va (now West Va) and married 2nd
Mrs Achsa Cotton (widow) due not have her maiden name as of
yet. children by Jimina Eaton are Robert Chalfant who
married Margaret Jenkins, Lidia who married Noah Minor,
Hannah who married James Cotton, Jemima who married Joseph
Minor and Susannah who married William Hartley. This info
comes from my Gr Aunt's DAR application. I have that he enlisted as a Private in Cap Gabriel Long's Co, Col. Rawlings Regiment of the Continental Line. He was engaged
in the Battle of Brandywine & Yorktown and soon after the
battle of Brandywine, was appointed Wagonmaster by Wagonmaster Gen Thompson & served until Mar or Apr 1780
He was allowed a penion of $80.00 per year in 1832.
