in reguardes to jean b. chalifoux i am a decendant ofthe chaulifoux-corcoran family we did a piece inA history of peirce county , washington-vol 3...... here as set..i belive we are related altho the spelling is off.. jean babtiste chaulifoux worked for the hudson bay fur co, was sent to sitka ak , along te stikium river at hudson baypost he married harriet iuse-musch kaowit daughter of cheif kaout of the sowlitz indian tribe and ta-wi-na. harriet was also known as annie whim they had two daughters joshephine bornmarch 17,1842 and elizabeth jan 24 1844 both at cowlitz landing on may 18 1852 harriet died of smallpox at fort nisqually jean laterremarried sophia then had a son together named jean baptiste jr the elder jean (father) died in 1867 or 69..the step mother was known to be cuel to the step daugthers mrs dr tolmie took them to victoria b.c. where the girls were to be educated. josephine later married dominic corcoran born may 23 1823.i have more information to much to list here but if anyone wants to contact me email me [email protected]@aol.com....im happy to help and share and trade information =)please leave message in subject line re:chaulifoux
